Dr. Alissa Stephens

Dr. Alissa Stephens grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey. She attended Rutgers University where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology. Following graduation in 2008, Dr. Stephens moved to Atlanta to complete an internship at Zoo Atlanta during which time she also worked as a veterinary assistant. She began vet school in 2011 at University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. During her four years there she worked as a veterinary assistant at TVV Buckhead during summer and Thanksgiving/Christmas breaks. Dr. Stephens received her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2015. Her special interest includes general surgery.

Dr. Stephens and her husband, Chris, got married around the same time she was graduating vet school – May 2015. They live in Canton with their five rescue dogs: Stitch, Maggie, Virginia, Madison, and Captain Jack. In her spare time, her hobbies are food and traveling.
