What is AAHA?

American Animal Hospital Association

aahaThe Village Vets practices are voluntarily certified by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).  Less than 18% of all North American veterinary practices earn this prestigious accreditation.

AAHA is the world's leading association of companion animal practitioners. To become an AAHA hospital member, our hospital has passed comprehensive inspections of our veterinary practice, management techniques, hospital facilities, medical and surgical equipment, and medical record keeping. A trained AAHA practice consultant periodically visits the hospital to thoroughly evaluate the facility to be sure it complies with these rigorous standards.

To keep up with the growing wealth of knowledge in the veterinary care field, our veterinarians and support staff participate in continuing education and training on a regular basis. We will continue to meet AAHA's rigid standards of practice in order to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care for your pets.

Visit the AAHA web site for more information at healthypet.com.

Our Story

Our Story

The Village Vets... it all began with the purchase of Cedar Village Animal Clinic on March 8, 2000, which later became The Village Vets Lilburn-Stone Mountain. Drs. Will Draper and Françoise Tyler, both 1991 graduates of Tuskegee University's School of Veterinary Medicine (and married since 1993), opened The Village Vets Decatur on March 26, 2001. Ten years later, on April 2, 2011, they opened a third location, The Village Vets Buckhead. The Village Vets is the result of their dreams come true.

We pride ourselves on being a full-service hospital, capable of handling most medical and surgical problems. We provide a wide range of services such as preventative health care, dental care, surgery, boarding and grooming. Our hospital staff consists of well-trained and highly qualified personnel, who constantly strive to provide the best medical and surgical care possible for our patients. We are proud to have recently been voted as metro-Atlanta's "Best Vets" in the November 2012 edition of Atlanta magazine's "Best of Atlanta" contest - our fifth consecutive honor in this publication.

We welcome any suggestions which may help us to improve further. If you have any questions concerning our services or your pet's health, please don't hesitate to call us. Feel free to email us as well. It is a pleasure serving you.

"We will practice honest, excellent veterinary medicine for our patients while offering honest, excellent service to our clients in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere."
