Born in Miami, FL Samantha was always surrounded by animals. If she wasn’t playing with her pets, she was in the backyard catching lizards. In 2005, she moved to Georgia where she ran cross country and track for Brookwood High School and graduated from the University of Georgia with her Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Natural Resources with a pre-vet emphasis. She began volunteering regularly at the Athens Humane Society’s spay/neuter clinic and even interned at UGA’s veterinary hospital. Samantha currently has 2 dogs of her own- a German/lab mix named Delilah and her one-eyed wonder Bella, who is a Pomeranian. She hopes to go to vet school and pursue her DVM with a dual degree in public health. In her spare time, Samantha enjoys singing, drinking coffee, and going to the beach.
Why she does this: “I absolutely love learning! Whether it’s hands-on or asking questions about a case, I find it all so interesting. It brings me great joy to know that I helped a patient feel better. And then to be able to teach their owner’s is very fulfilling.”
